Marco Sebastianelli is Senior Associate at PlusValue. He has extensive experience in applied research, specifically on impact assessment and social innovation with a focus on urban regeneration and impact investing.
In the past few years he has consistently been working on the design of impact strategy and assessment frameworks in the context of public-private partnerships for innovation infrastructures and European projects dealing with new technologies for social progress. As a researcher he focused on the evaluation of human wellbeing through composite indicators, and the determinants of innovation at ecosystem level. Lately, Marco has been supporting the development of a private equity impact fund for urban innovation, for which he is leading the design of the impact assessment framework.
He has been a regular speaker at international conferences on economics and social innovation, and counts on numerous publications and research experiences both in political institutions (Government of South Australia, Department of the Premier and Cabinet) and international organizations (OECD).
Marco holds a joint PhD in Economics and Social Sciences from the University School for Advanced Studies of Pavia and the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies of Pisa (Italy).
